Using Data to Gain an Edge Against Wildfires

The Moraga-Orinda fire district has been battling the fires that have devastated many areas California — fires like the Rim Fire, which burned more than 400 square miles, or the Camp Fire, which destroyed the Northern California town of Paradise, displacing more than 50,000 people. To gain an edge against these fires, the department is collaborating with Zonehaven and Splunk Global Impact to use data to alert for wildfires and produce better situational awareness for response and community evacuations.
